UAE has sufficient weapons stockpile to counter Iran attacks, says Ministry of Defence

The UAE has sufficient weapons stockpiles to continue defending the country against Iranian attacks for an extended period, the Ministry of Defence said. Speaking at a government media briefing on Tuesday (March 3), Ministry spokesman Brig. Staff Pilot Abdulnasir Al Hammad said the Armed Forces remain on full operational footing. The UAE has “sufficient strategic stockpiles of munitions to sustain interception and response operations against aerial threats for extended periods, ensuring continued combat readiness,” he said. Since February 28, air defences have dealt with 186 ballistic missiles and 812 drones launched towards the country. Of the missiles, 172 were destroyed and 13 fell into the sea. Eight cruise missiles were also intercepted. Of the drones, 755 were intercepted while 57 fell within UAE territory. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior confirmed expanded deployments across the emirates. Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad, Director General of Central Operations, said more than 3,200 specialised vehicles and over 4,100 traffic, security patrols and armed response units have been deployed nationwide. “The national security system is based on comprehensive plans driven by periodic risk assessments and scenario analysis, ensuring permanent preparedness for any emergency,” Al Ahmad said. He added that the Ministry works closely with more than 25 national entities under an integrated framework to enhance coordination and accelerate response times. Authorities reiterated that security conditions across the UAE remain stable, with round-the-clock monitoring in place.
