The UAE Federal Supreme Court has rejected the appeals of 53 individuals convicted in the high-profile "Terrorist Justice and Dignity Organisation" case. The court upheld the previous ruling issued by the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeals – State Security Chamber, maintaining long prison sentences and hefty fines. In its latest decision, the court confirmed the sentences handed down last year, when 43 defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment for establishing and managing a terrorist organization in the UAE. A total of 43 members sentenced to life imprisonment for their direct involvement in forming and operating the terrorist organization. Five individuals received 15-year sentences for publishing anti-government content online. Five others were sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Dh10 million each for money laundering to fund terrorism. Six companies and their officials were fined Dh20 million each, had their assets seized, and were ordered to shut down for laundering funds for the terrorist organization. One of the convicted individuals confessed that the group had been planning to instigate violent protests in a public space in the UAE, with the aim of drawing international attention. According to court documents, the organization had formed specialized teams, including teams to create fake news campaigns. Meanwhile, the court postponed the verdict on appeals submitted by the Public Prosecutor until April 8. ICA/Expat Media
