Travel bans in the UAE can now be automatically removed without the need of an individual request, the Ministry of Justice has announced. The automated procedure is part of the ministry’s enhanced services under the UAE’s wider Zero Government Bureaucracy programme. According to the Ministry of Justice, individuals eligible for travel ban removal will no longer need to submit a request or paperwork. In a video posted on Wednesday, the ministry said that lifting a travel ban is now a proactive, automated service. "The number of procedures has been cut from nine to zero, the number of attachments from one to zero, and the time duration from one working day to minutes," according to the ministry. Previously, the process to request for a removal of a travel ban involved multiple steps. The online request service, however, is still available on the Ministry of Justice website and costs Dh300. According to the ministry’s website, the online application takes two days and will depend on the execution of judgment decision. ICA/Expat Media
