Travelers arriving or departing from the UAE must declare cash, precious stones and jewellery worth over Dh60,000 or risk punishment, according to the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) in a fresh reminder. According to the ADJD, non-disclosure would result in imprisonment or fine. The court may also order the confiscation of the undeclared money or valuables. The ADJD said that passengers may not disclose funds or valuables to evade customs duties, or to conceal the origin of the fund, which may have come from illegal sources. According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, travelers must fill out an online declaration form called Afseh through the website declare.customs.ae, or through the Afseh mobile app if traveling into or from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah or Sharjah. For Dubai, travelers must use the iDeclare mobile app by Dubai Customs. ICA/Expat Media
