Abu Dhabi: 3 injured after shrapnel falls on Habshan gas facility

Three people were injured after falling shrapnel caused fires at the Habshan gas complex in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (April 8), authorities confirmed. Two Emiratis and one Indian national sustained minor injuries in the incident, which followed a successful interception by air defence systems. Officials said the debris triggered multiple fires within the facility. Emergency teams responded quickly, and operations at the site have been temporarily suspended.

Missile hits Thuraya facility in Sharjah, two injured

Authorities in Sharjah confirmed on Tuesday (April 7) that a ballistic missile struck an administrative building belonging to Thuraya Telecommunications Company in the emirate’s Central Region, leaving two people injured. According to officials, the victims—both Pakistani nationals—sustained moderate injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Drone targets du building in Fujairah

According to the Fujairah Media Office, a building belonging to du in Fujairah was targeted by a drone launched from Iran on Monday (April 6). Officials said emergency teams responded immediately to the incident. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Falling shrapnel injures man in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Media Office said falling shrapnel struck a facility belonging to Raneen Systems in the ICAD industrial area in Musaffah on Monday (April 6). The debris fell after UAE air defence systems successfully intercepted an incoming threat. According to authorities, the incident resulted in moderate injuries to a Ghanaian national. 4 injured in Khorfakkan port debris incident

Four people were injured after falling debris struck Sharjah’s Khorfakkan Port on Sunday (April 5), authorities confirmed. The Sharjah Government Media Bureau said the incident occurred following the successful interception of an aerial threat by UAE air defence systems. A Nepali national sustained severe injuries and was taken to hospital, while three Pakistani nationals suffered minor to moderate injuries. Emergency response teams quickly brought the situation under control. Authorities said a fire broke out at the site due to the falling fragments, but it was contained efficiently. Cooling operations were still ongoing as crews worked to secure the area.

Fires break out in Abu Dhabi plant

On Sunday (April 5), three fires were reported at the Borouge plant in Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Media Office said the fires were caused by falling debris following another successful interception. “No injuries were reported,” authorities said, adding that emergency teams responded immediately and brought the situation under control.Damage to the facility was reported and is currently being assessed.

UAE embassy, ambassador's residence targeted

In Jordan on Sunday (April 5), officials condemned attacks targeting the UAE embassy in Amman, Jordan and the residence of its ambassador in Damascus, Syria. According to Petra News Agency, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali called for the protection of diplomatic missions. He stressed the need to uphold international law, including the 1961 Vienna Convention, which guarantees the safety of diplomatic premises.

Egyptian killed after debris hits Abu Dhabi gas facility

An Egyptian national has died and four others were injured after debris from an intercepted aerial attack fell on gas facilities in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed on Saturday (April 4). The incident occurred at the Habshan gas site following the successful interception of a threat by air defence systems. “As part of the ongoing follow up to the previously reported incident at Habshan gas facilities, caused by falling debris following the successful interception by air defence systems, authorities confirm that two fires broke out and emergency response teams acted swiftly to bring the situation under control,” the Media Office said. Authorities said one Egyptian worker died during the evacuation of the site. Four others sustained minor injuries, including two Pakistani nationals and two Egyptians. Emergency teams were able to contain the fires quickly, although officials confirmed that the facility sustained significant damage. A full assessment is ongoing.

Debris hits buildings in Dubai Internet City, Dubai Marina

Authorities in Dubai confirmed that no injuries were reported after debris from an aerial interception fell on buildings in different parts of the emirate. “Authorities confirm that they responded to a minor incident caused by debris from an aerial interception that fell on the facade of the Oracle building in Dubai Internet City. No injuries were reported,” the Dubai Media Office announced on Saturday (April 4). The affected site includes an office building linked to Oracle. Authorities also confirmed a separate incident in Dubai Marina, where debris struck another building facade. No fire or injuries were reported in that case.<

Drone debris kills Bangladeshi, injures Indian

A Bangladeshi national was killed after debris from an intercepted drone fell on a farm in Fujairah, while an Indian expat was injured in a separate incident in Umm Al Quwain, authorities confirmed on Wednesday (April 1). The Fujairah Government Media Office said the UAE’s air defence systems successfully intercepted a drone over the emirate before debris landed in the Al Rifa’a area. The Bangladeshi victim died at the scene, officials confirmed. In a separate incident, the Umm Al Quwain Government Media Office said an Indian national was injured after debris from another intercepted drone fell near a facility in the Umm Al Thaoub Industrial area.

4 injured in Dubai after drone debris sparks villa fire; oil tanker also targeted

Authorities in Dubai responded early Tuesday (March 31) to multiple incidents involving drone activity, including a fire in a residential area and damage to a vessel in local waters. According to Dubai Media Office, an abandoned villa in Al Badaa caught fire after debris from a successful air defence interception fell on the property. Four Asian people in the vicinity sustained minor injuries. In a separate incident, a drone struck a Kuwaiti oil tanker anchored in Dubai waters at Anchorage “E”. No injuries were reported, and all 24 crew members were confirmed safe. Emergency teams were deployed to contain the situation, with maritime firefighting units working to control the fire on the vessel in line with safety protocols, according to Dubai Media Office. UAE air defences intercept missiles and drones

The Ministry of Defence said UAE air defence systems engaged 10 ballistic missiles and 45 drones launched from Iran on Tuesday (March 17). Authorities also shared updated figures since the start of the escalation. A total of 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,672 drones have been intercepted so far. Officials confirmed that two members of the armed forces were killed while performing their duties. Six civilians of different nationalities also lost their lives. A total of 157 people were injured, with cases ranging from minor to severe.

Abu Dhabi: One killed after debris falls in Baniyas

In Abu Dhabi, authorities responded to an incident in the Baniyas area involving falling debris following the interception of a missile on Tuesday (March 17). One person, a Pakistani national, was killed. The Pakistan Embassy in the UAE expressed its condolences, saying:  “We are profoundly saddened by the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi’s Baniyas area due to falling debris following the interception of a missile.” Officials said they are working closely with the family and coordinating support.

Fujairah: Fire at oil industry zone after drone incident

In Fujairah, authorities confirmed that a fire broke out at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone after a drone incident on Tuesday (March 17) Emergency teams responded immediately and worked to control the fire. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Abu Dhabi: Fire at Shah Field brought under control

In Abu Dhabi, specialised teams have contained a fire at a facility in Shah Field on Tuesday (March 17). Authorities said the situation is now under control. A drone strike was reported in the Shah Field  on Monday (March 16).  Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported. Operations at the site have been temporarily suspended while assessments are ongoing.

Air traffic returns to normal

The General Civil Aviation Authority announced that air navigation across the UAE has returned to normal on Tuesday afternoon (March 17) Earlier, a temporary and partial airspace closure had been implemented as a precaution due to evolving regional developments. The authority said the decision to resume normal operations followed a full assessment of safety and operational conditions. Officials added that real-time monitoring continues to ensure the safety of flights and airspace.

Fire near Dubai Airport extinguished

A fire at a fuel tank near Dubai International Airport was extinguished on Monday evening (March 16), according to the Dubai Media Office. The update came 15 hours after the fire was first reported. "Civil Defence teams have confirmed that the fire in a fuel tank in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport has been extinguished. Cooling operations are now underway," according to the Dubai Media Office in a statement at around 7:30pm.

Dubai: Flights resume after drone incident near airport

Dubai gradually resumed some flights on Monday afternoon (March 16), after  a drone incident near Dubai International Airport triggered a fire affecting one of the airport’s fuel tanks on Monday morning. Authorities said there were no injuries, but flight operations were temporarily suspended as emergency teams moved in. Some flights were later diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport, while public transport in nearby areas was also affected as crews worked to contain the situation. Dubai began gradually restoring some flights on Monday afternoon. Reports said the disruption came after a drone attack caused a fuel tank blaze near the airport.

Dubai Metro stations disrupted

Residents told Expat Media that some Dubai Metro stations were disrupted on Monday (March 16) following an incident at Dubai International Airport. Service was suspended in four metro stations on Monday morning: Airport Terminal 1 station, Airport Terminal 3 station, Emirates station and Centrepoint station. The diverted traffic caused congestion in nearby metro stations, such as Al Rigga Metro Station as early as 8am, a resident told Expat Media. Metro travelers were advised to take the bus from Rashidiya bus station to Al Garhoud Metro station in order to board the Dubai Metro.

Abu Dhabi: One person killed after missile falls on civilian car

In Abu Dhabi, authorities said on Monday (March 16) that a missile fell on a civilian vehicle in Al Bahyah, killing one person of Palestinian nationality. Officials urged the public to rely only on verified updates and to avoid circulating rumours or unconfirmed claims as authorities continued to monitor the situation.

Fujairah: Fire breaks out at petroleum site

In Fujairah, a drone attack caused a fire at a petroleum industries site, according to the Fujairah Government Media Office on Monday (March 16). Emergency teams quickly responded and confirmed that the blaze was limited, with no injuries reported. Reuters said oil loading operations at Fujairah port were temporarily affected before resuming, highlighting the strategic importance of the emirate as a major energy export hub.

Umm Al Quwain: Drone strike sparks building fire

In Umm Al Quwain, the Government Media Office said a drone targeted a building in the emirate, resulting in a fire on Monday (March 16). Emergency teams responded immediately, and authorities confirmed there were no casualties or injuries. Officials also called on the public to remain calm and follow only official channels for updates.

UAE air defences intercept 6 missiles, 21 drones

The Ministry of Defence said UAE air defences intercepted six ballistic missiles and 21 drones on Monday (March 16). Authorities also said that since the start of the attacks, UAE air defences have dealt with 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,627 drones. The incidents come as the wider regional conflict entered its 17th day on March 16, adding pressure on airports, ports and public services across the Gulf.

UAE intercepts missile, drone attacks after Iran threatens major ports

The UAE successfully intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran on Sunday morning (March 15),  a day after Tehran issued a warning calling for the evacuation of three major UAE ports, saying it will be targeting US assets "hiding there". Drone incident in Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai authorities confirmed that a drone struck a building in the Dubai Creek Harbour area in the early hours of Thursday (March 12), prompting an emergency response and the evacuation of residents as a precaution. Civil Defence teams brought a small fire in the building under control shortly after the drone impact. Residents were evacuated from the building and moved to a safer location while emergency teams secured the area. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.

Drone debris hits Sheikh Zayed Road building

On Thursday (March 12), officials also reported a separate minor incident involving debris on the façade of a building on Sheikh Zayed Road. Authorities said the debris resulted from a successful aerial interception and that the situation was being handled, again with no injuries recorded.

4 injured in drone incident near Dubai airport

UAE holds military funeral for 2 pilots killed in crash

The UAE held a military funeral on Tuesday (March 10) to honour two armed forces pilots who died in a helicopter crash while performing their national duty. The ceremony was organised by the UAE Ministry of Defence at Zayed Military Hospital. Captain Saeed Rashid Hamad Al Balooshi and First Lieutenant Ali Saleh Ismail Al Tunaiji were accorded full military honours during the ceremony attended by senior defence officials, officers and the families of the fallen pilots. Separate funeral prayers were also held in the pilots’ hometowns. In Ras Al Khaimah, residents gathered to bid farewell to First Lieutenant Al Tunaiji during funeral prayers held after the Dhuhr prayer at Abdullah Ali Ibrahim Al Aamash Mosque. Meanwhile, funeral prayers for Captain Al Balooshi were held in Al Ain after the Dhuhr prayer at Al Muatared Al Kabeer Mosque.

UAE intercepts missiles and drones on March 10

Air defence systems in the UAE intercepted several missiles and drones on Tuesday (March 10) as regional attacks targeting the country continued. Authorities detected nine ballistic missiles on Tuesday. Eight of the missiles were successfully destroyed by air defence systems, while one fell into the sea. Officials also detected 35 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones. Of these, 26 were intercepted and nine landed within the country’s territory.

Death toll rises to 6

The death toll rose on Tuesday (March 6), with officials saying the attacks have resulted in a total of six deaths and injuries to 122 people since February 28. Those injured include residents and nationals from several countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, the Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan and Palestine. Authorities said most of the injuries were minor to moderate.

2 killed in helicopter crash

Two members of the UAE Armed Forces died in a helicopter crash on Monday (March 9), the Ministry of Defence announced. The deadly crash happened "due to a technical malfunction while performing their national duty in the country," according to the Ministry, which extended its condolences to the families of the two martyrs.

Authorities have extinguished a fire sparked by debris from an intercepted air attack on Monday (March 9). No injuries were reported.

Driver dies in Al Barsha

The latest fatality occurred on Saturday night (March 7) when debris from an intercepted aerial threat struck a vehicle in Dubai's Al Barsha area. Authorities said a Pakistani driver died after shrapnel hit the vehicle. Authorities confirmed that as of Sunday (March 8), a total of  four people have died and 112 others were injured since Iranian attacks began on February 28. The first fatality occurred on February 28, when a shrapnel from an intercepted drone fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, killing a Pakistani national. The next day, during a drone attack on Zayed International Airport, one person died and seven people were also injured. By Sunday (March 1), the death toll had risen to three. The victims included expatriates from Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Dubai Marina tower incident

Authorities also confirmed that debris from a successful aerial interception struck a tower in Dubai Marina on Saturday evening (March 7). Emergency teams responded quickly and secured the area. Officials said no injuries were reported in the incident.

Flight operations briefly disrupted at Dubai Airport

Flight operations at Dubai International Airport were briefly disrupted on Saturday morning (March 7) due to the security situation, authorities said. However, airlines including Emirates and flydubai later resumed normal services. Authorities said airports across the UAE continue to operate with enhanced safety measures.

Residents injured by falling debris

Some of the injuries since February 28 occurred when fragments from intercepted drones fell in residential areas. Officials said two people were injured after debris fell into private courtyards in Dubai, while a mother and child were injured in a similar incident near Etihad Towers. Another six people were injured in the ICAD 2 industrial area of Abu Dhabi when shrapnel fell during an interception. On Sunday (March 1), Dubai authorities confirmed that four people were injured after a concourse at Dubai International Airport (DXB) sustained minor damage. Another incident at a hotel on Palm Jumeirah also left four people injured, authorities confirmed.

More than 1,500 aerial threats detected

According to figures released by the UAE Ministry of Defence, the country has faced more than 1,500 missile and drone attacks since February 28. Officials said roughly 94 per cent of these threats were intercepted by air defence systems. Many of the remaining drones fell into the sea or landed in unpopulated areas. UAE President visits injured, praises citizens and expats for unity

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reassured citizens, residents and visitors that the UAE remains strong and fully prepared to confront current challenges, while praising the unity shown by the country’s diverse community. The UAE President made the remarks during a visit on Friday (March 6) to individuals injured in recent attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region. Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is prepared to deal with the current situation and continues to prioritise the safety of everyone living in the country. “With God’s grace, the UAE is fully prepared to confront these threats,” he said. Sheikh Mohamed also highlighted the solidarity shown by the UAE community during the current tensions. He praised both Emirati citizens and expatriate residents for their loyalty and unity. “In the UAE, everyone is Emirati through their love for this land and their contributions to it,” he said. UAE destroys 9 ballistic missiles, 109 drones

The Ministry of Defence said air defence systems detected nine ballistic missiles and 112 drones on Friday (March 6) amid continuing Iranian attacks targeting the country. According to the ministry, all nine ballistic missiles were destroyed before reaching their targets. Authorities said 109 drones were intercepted, while three drones fell within the country’s territory.

Hundreds of missiles intercepted since Feb 28

Since the start of the attacks on Saturday (February 28), the ministry said 205 ballistic missiles have been detected, with 190 destroyed by air defence systems. Thirteen missiles fell into the sea while two fell within UAE territory. Authorities also reported detecting 1,184 drones, of which 1,110 were intercepted. Seventy-four drones fell within the country’s territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.

Casualties reported

Authorities confirmed that the attacks have not resulted in new deaths. The death toll remain at 3, including Pakistani, Nepalese and Bangladeshi nationals. As of March 6, the number of injured reached 112, with victims sustaining minor injuries, mostly due to fallen debris of intercepted missiles and drones. Among the injured are Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian and Turkish nationals.

Dubai attractions remain closed until March 6

Several major attractions in Dubai will remain temporarily closed until Friday (March 6) as authorities continue precautionary safety measures following recent regional developments. Popular tourist destinations including Ain Dubai, Global Village, and Dubai Parks and Resorts confirmed that their closures have been extended until March 6.

129 drones, 3 missiles targeted UAE on March 4

The Ministry of Defence announced that UAE air defence systems successfully intercepted three ballistic missiles on Wednesday (March 4) nd detected 129 drones, of which 121 were intercepted while eight fell within the territory. According to the ministry, a total of 189 ballistic missiles have been launched towards the UAE since the start of Iranian aggression on February 28, with 175 missiles destroyed, 13 falling into the sea and one missile landing within the territory. A total of 941 Iranian drones have also been detected, of which 876 were intercepted, while 65 fell within the country. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed. The attacks caused some collateral damage and resulted in three fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationalities, as well as 78 minor injuries among individuals of Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese and Afghan nationalities.

No casualties in drone-related incident near US Consulate in Dubai

Authorities in Dubai have confirmed that no one was injured after a drone-related incident sparked a small fire near the vicinity of the US Consulate on Tuesday night (March 3). According to the Dubai Media Office, “Specialised teams successfully extinguished the limited fire in the vicinity as a result of a drone targeting operation and there were no injuries.”

No injuries after drone debris sparks fire in Fujairah

Authorities in Fujairah have confirmed that no injuries were reported after drone debris caused a limited fire in the emirate on Tuesday morning (March 3). Missiles and drones blocked, no direct hits within UAE

Brig. Staff Pilot Abdulnasir Al Hammadi, spokesman for the Ministry of Defence, said in a UAE Government media briefing on Tuesday (March 3) that the the loud sounds reported in several areas were caused by air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, as well as UAE fighter jets confronting drones and cruise missiles. Debris from intercepted missiles and drones accounted for recorded injuries and minor property damage, not direct strikes on targets within the country, he said. He added that 24/7 monitoring of airspace, territorial waters and land borders continues, with reinforced deployments, elevated combat readiness and enhanced surveillance and early warning systems in place.

186 ballistic missiles, 812 drones dealt with

Brig. Staff Pilot Alhameedi said that since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have dealt with 186 ballistic missiles launched towards the country. Of these, 172 were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea and one landed on UAE territory. He added that 812 Iranian drones were detected. Of these, 755 were intercepted while 57 fell within UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed. The incidents resulted in some collateral damage, three fatalities and 68 minor injuries, along with limited to moderate damage to several civilian properties. Alhameedi said the UAE has sufficient strategic stockpiles of munitions to sustain interception and response operations against aerial threats for extended periods, ensuring continued combat readiness.

Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said in the UAE Government media briefing on March 3 that the UAE’s position has been clear from the beginning: its territory will not be used in any military operation against Iran. She stressed that the country reserves its full and legitimate right to self-defence and to protect its sovereignty. Al Hashimy said Iran launched its attacks without taking the UAE’s declared position into consideration. She noted that the UAE and other Gulf states had exerted diplomatic efforts to avoid military confrontation and escalation, underscoring that Gulf security is indivisible. She confirmed that the UAE has taken steps to close its embassy in Tehran and withdraw its ambassador. “Our message is clear,” she said. “The Iranian attacks are unjustified and carry serious consequences.” Despite the situation, Al Hashimy said all vital sectors in the UAE continue to operate without interruption, and daily life across the country is proceeding normally. “We do not seek to widen the conflict,” she added, stressing that the UAE does not believe military solutions lead to stable outcomes.

More than 3,200 specialised vehicles deployed nationwide

Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad, Director General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior, said that more than 3,200 specialised vehicles have been deployed, alongside over 4,100 traffic and security patrols and armed response units. The reinforced deployment supports rapid intervention capabilities and strengthens on-ground response measures throughout the emirates. Authorities reiterated that security and public safety remain the top priority, with monitoring and operational measures continuing around the clock.

Integrated national security framework across 25 entities

Brigadier Al Ahmad explained that the Ministry of Interior works in close coordination with more than 25 national entities as part of an integrated security structure. This approach, he said, enhances cooperation between agencies, shortens response times, and allows faster and more informed decision-making during critical situations. The coordinated framework ensures that operations across sectors remain aligned, particularly during periods of heightened regional tensions.

Missiles, drones intercepted on 3rd day of Iran strikes

The Ministry of Defense announced that the UAE’s air defenses successfully intercepted on Monday (March 2) a total of 9 ballistic missiles, 6 cruise missiles, and 148 drones, resulting in 10 minor injuries. The Ministry explained that since the start of the Iranian aggression, 174 ballistic missiles launched toward the country have been detected, of which 161 were destroyed, while 13 fell into the sea. A total of 689 Iranian drones were also detected, with 645 intercepted, while 44 landed within the country’s territory. A total of 8 cruise missiles were detected and destroyed, causing some collateral damage.

Death toll, casualties as of March 2

According to the Ministry of Defence, Iranian strikes against the UAE since February 28 has resulted in 3 deaths and 68 minor injuries as of Monday (March 2). Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals were among those killed. The injuries include individuals of Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, and Afghan nationalities.

Sounds heard in UAE are missiles, drones being intercepted

The Ministry of Defence affirmed on March 2 that the sounds heard in various parts of the country are the result of air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles and fighter jets intercepting drones and cruise missiles. These interceptions led to minor to moderate material damage to a number of civilian properties, according to the Ministry.

Sheikh Mohamed receives calls from Trump, Putin

UAE summons Iranian ambassador

On March 2, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Reza Ameri, Iran’s Ambassador to the UAE, and delivered what officials described as a strongly worded note of protest. The ministry conveyed the UAE’s condemnation “in the strongest terms” of Iran’s attacks and assaults, stressing that targeting UAE territory constitutes a violation of sovereignty and a threat to national security, as well as a breach of international conventions and norms. During the meeting, Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar expressed the UAE’s categorical rejection of any justifications or excuses issued by the Iranian Government regarding what he described as hostile escalation targeting civilian sites. Al Marar warned of serious repercussions on bilateral relations, including political, economic and commercial ties.

Drone debris falls in RAK, no injuries

Authorities in Ras Al Khaimah responded on Monday (March 2)  to debris that fell in Al Hamra Village following the successful interception of a drone by UAE air defence systems. According to the Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office, no injuries were reported in the incident. “The relevant authorities in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah dealt this morning with an incident in the Al Hamra Village area, caused by debris falling following the successful interception of a drone by air defense systems. No injuries were reported,” the media office said in an alert.

UAE shuts down embassy in Iran

The UAE on Sunday (March 1) closed its Embassy in Tehran and withdrew its ambassador along with all members of its diplomatic mission, in response to Iranian missile and drone attacks that targeted the UAE’s territory. In a statement, the UAE condemned Iran's "hostile attacks against civilian sites, including residential areas, airports, ports, and service facilities, endangered innocent civilians in a serious and irresponsible escalation and constitute a flagrant violation of national sovereignty, as well as a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations."

Residents receive new alert on Day 2

At 11:17pm on Sunday (March 1), some UAE residents, including those in Dubai’s Deira area, received another emergency alert from the Ministry of Interior as Iran strikes against UAE entered Day 2.

165 missiles, 541 drones intercepted in 2 days

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that UAE air defence forces have so far dealt with 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles and 541 Iranian drones since the beginning of the attacks on Saturday morning (February 28). On Sunday (March 1), the second morning of the assault, the Ministry said air defences destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, while eight fell into the sea, and two cruise missiles were shot down.

311 drones intercepted, 21 hit civilian targets on March 1

On Sunday, 311 drones were intercepted in the UAE, although 21 reportedly struck civilian targets, according to the Ministry of Defence. Since the start of the attacks, 152 of the 165 ballistic missiles were destroyed and 13 fell into sea waters. Of the 541 drones identified, 506 were intercepted and 35 landed within the UAE, causing material damage to structures.

Casualties and injuries reported

Authorities have confirmed three fatalities linked to the attacks across the UAE. Those killed were expatriates of Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi nationality. In addition, 58 people sustained minor injuries. These included residents of a wide range of nationalities such as Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese and Afghan. Injuries have occurred primarily from falling debris and shrapnel following interceptions of drones and missiles, rather than direct impacts from incoming projectiles.

Al Salam Naval Base in Abu Dhabi hit

Two Iranian drones struck a warehouse at the Al Salam Naval Base on Sunday (March 1), the Ministry of Defence said. The impact caused a fire in two containers holding general materials. Specialised emergency teams responded and safely handled the blaze, and no human casualties were reported. The ministry condemned the attack and reiterated the UAE’s right to defend its territory and people.

Zayed International Airport strike

A drone attack at Zayed International Airport on early on Sunday (March 1) led to one death and seven injuries, authorities confirmed. Emergency teams were immediately deployed to manage the situation in coordination with relevant agencies. The fatality was an Asian national, and the injured were treated by medical staff. Civilian hit by falling debris in Abu Dhabi

On Saturday (February 28), shrapnel from intercepted threats fell in a residential area of Abu Dhabi, killing a Pakistani national and causing property damage, the Ministry of Defence said. This marked the first confirmed fatality linked to falling debris from interceptions.

Dubai: homes struck by shrapnel, 2 injured

In Dubai, debris from intercepted Iranian drones fell into the courtyards of two homes, injuring two residents, the Dubai Media Office said. Officials clarified that loud sounds heard in the area were caused by successful interception operations and confirmed the situation was under control.

Dubai International Airport hit, 4 injured

A concourse at Dubai International Airport (DXB) sustained minor damage in an incident on Sunday, March 1, according to Dubai Airports. Four airport staff were injured and received prompt medical attention. On Saturday (February 28), four people were injured in an incident at a building in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, the Dubai Media Office said. Dubai authorities confirmed that a drone was intercepted near the iconic Burj Al Arab, causing a minor fire on the hotel’s exterior. Second wave of missiles intercepted in Abu Dhabi

A second wave of missile strikes were intercepted in Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon, and fragments of intercepted missiles fell across areas including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohamed bin Zayed City and Al Falah. No injuries were reported in that wave. Authorities released photos of the fallen debris to the public.

National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority response

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said the UAE is operating under an integrated national crisis response framework with advanced operational expertise. Authorities are coordinating closely across agencies and will provide updates as needed. NCEMA urged residents to stay away from debris or suspicious objects, and not to approach, touch or photograph them until specialised teams have secured the area.

Ministry of Interior: highest level of readiness

The Ministry of Interior said it is monitoring regional developments closely and remains at the highest level of readiness in coordination with relevant authorities. Emergency alerts have advised residents to seek shelter in secure buildings and stay away from windows during periods of heightened risk. The Ministry emphasised that public safety and security remain top priorities.
