Residents in the Al Sameeh area of Abu Dhabi are advised to expect loud noises and high activity levels as the UAE Ministry of Defence conducts military training exercises until December 3. The Ministry has urged the public to steer clear of the site for their safety. The training, which began on November 12, is part of a national defense program aimed at enhancing the country’s military readiness. The Ministry assured residents that the noise is a temporary but necessary part of the drills. In an announcement on X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry said, “We extend our sincere thanks for your cooperation and commitment to support the success of this national event.” Residents in neighboring areas have been reassured that all necessary measures are being taken to minimize disturbances. Residents were also reminded of the UAE’s strict laws prohibiting photography and videography in military areas. According to Article 379 of the UAE Penal Code, taking photos or videos in restricted zones such as military sites, palaces, and government facilities can result in penalties ranging from one to three months in jail or fines up to Dh5,000. The ongoing training exercises reflect the UAE's commitment to maintaining a robust defense system while involving the community in its national initiatives. Authorities emphasized that cooperation from the public is vital during this period. ICA/Expat Media
