The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert across the UAE due to strong northwesterly winds expected to persist until 2pm on Thursday (April 17). Wind speeds could reach up to 50km/h at times, resulting in rough to very rough seas in the Arabian Gulf, with waves rising up to 9 feet. The Sea of Oman is also expected to be moderate to rough. Weather conditions for Thursday will be partly cloudy and dusty, with reduced visibility in exposed areas due to sand being blown by strong winds. Friday is forecasted to be generally clear with occasional dust. Humidity will increase during the night and early Saturday morning in coastal and inland areas. The unsettled weather will gradually stabilize by Saturday, with moderate winds and occasional cloud cover expected through Sunday. However, sea conditions will remain rough at times, especially in the Arabian Gulf. Residents are advised to stay alert, avoid unnecessary sea travel, and monitor official weather updates.
