UAE weather: light rain, dusty conditions forecast

UAE residents can expect some light rain in parts of the country on Sunday morning (February 18), according to the National Centre of Meteorology. The weather in the next several days will also be dusty, with winds of up to 55km/hr blowing dust and sand that may affect visibility. Here’s the 5-day weather forecast:

Saturday, February 17

Partly cloudy and dusty at times becoming cloudy far north with a probability of light rain by Sunday morning. Light to moderate winds, becoming gradually fresh and strong winds at times especially over the sea by late night and Sunday morning. The sea will be slight to moderate, becoming rough gradually by late night and Sunday morning in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Sunday, February 18

Fair to partly cloudy and cloudy at times northward. With a significant decrease in temperatures. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds and strong at times especially over the sea causing blowing dust and sand and deteriorating in horizontal visibility, with a speed of 20 – 30 reaching 55 km/hr. The sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate becoming rough by afternoon in the Oman Sea.

Monday, February 19

Fair to partly in general. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds and strong at times especially over the sea causing blowing dust and sand deteriorating horizontal visibility especially Northward, with a speed of 15 – 30 reaching 50 km/hr. The sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and rough in the Oman Sea.

Tuesday, February 20

Fair to partly cloudy and cloudy at times northward. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds and strong at times especially over the sea causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and rough in the Oman Sea.

Wednesday, February 21

Fair to partly cloudy in general. Humid by night and Thursday morning over some internal areas with a probability of mist formation. Fresh to moderate northwesterly winds causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr.
