UAE weather warning: rain, 5-degree temperature in parts of country

  DUBAI – Scattered rainfall was felt in parts of the country on Saturday morning, with the national weather bureau predicting more rain and a big drop in temperatures. The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCM) reported rainfall in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. In Dubai, the Al Muraqqabat area experienced some moderate showers early on Saturday morning, while showers also fell on Taween and Dibba in Fujairah. The weather bureau warned residents of choppy seas, adding that waves with heights of five to seven feet will be seen offshore until 2pm on Sunday. On Saturday, the weather will remain generally “partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of some rainfall over scattered areas of the country and hazy at times”. The temperature is expected to drop to 5 degrees in mountainous areas and 10 degrees in internal areas, while the temperature will hit a low of 13 degrees in coastal areas and islands, according to NCM.
