The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the UAE welcomed a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, expressing hope that it will support regional stability. In a statement, the ministry commended diplomatic efforts led by US President Donald Trump in facilitating the agreement. “The UAE hopes this step will contribute to creating an environment conducive to stability and security,” the ministry said, stressing the need for continued international coordination to prevent escalation. The UAE also reaffirmed its support for Lebanon, highlighting the importance of strengthening state institutions and ensuring weapons remain under government control. A 10-day ceasefire has taken effect, although tensions remain. The Lebanese army has accused Israel of violations in southern areas, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said forces would remain deployed. Meanwhile, Iran has rejected temporary ceasefires, calling instead for a complete end to conflict across the region. Speaking at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said: “We are not accepting any temporary ceasefire… This should end here once and for all.” He added that any agreement must cover all conflict zones “from Lebanon to the Red Sea,” describing this as a “red line” for Tehran.
