Umm Al Quwain closes all public beaches until further notice

  DUBAI – Public beaches in Umm Al Quwain have been closed off until further notice amid the coronavirus outbreak. Authorities said the measure is meant to prevent gatherings and to curb the spread of coronavirus. Beaches connected to hotels and resorts will remain open for use by their guests. In Dubai, public and private beaches have reopened amid precautionary measures. Beachgoers are required to wear masks when not in the water. Some 210 beachgoers were fined in one day for failing to observe precautionary measures, according to Dubai Police. In Ajman, the Ajman Corniche Beach and Al Zorah Beach were temporarily closed over the weekend. Ajman Tourism on Saturday began a massive inspection campaign of its tourist spots and hotels to ensure that sanitation rules are being followed.
