Stray animals in Umm Al Quwain will now be seized under a new decree issued by the ruler of Umm Al Quwain. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, issued the decree to regulate stray animals in the emirate. Under the new rule, stray animals in the emirate will be seized and confined in designated pens by the Umm Al Quwain Municipality Department. Once an animal is seized, its owner must submit a request to claim it within seven days before the municipality considers confiscating it. The municipality may dispose of stray animals as it deems appropriate. Authorized employees of the municipality will be granted the status of judicial police officers to control and prove violations in accordance with the law. ICA/Expat Media
