Move follows Sessions' vow during Senate hearing on confirmation to avoid conflict of interest

  WASHINGTON – Bowing to intense political pressure, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has inhibited from any investigation into matters related to the presidential campaign of Donald Trump last year. Sessions reached the decision after promising the Senate judiciary committee to avoid any conflict of interest between his current post as attorney general and his previous involvement in the Trump campaign, and also after consulting the justice department.
