In an address to the nation, US President Joe Biden called for stricter gun controls following the shooting of 19 children at an elementary school in Texas. “When in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God’s name do we do what we all know needs to be done?” Biden asked. On Tuesday (May 24) morning, 19 students and two adults were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas after an 18-year-old shooter opened fire at the school, going from classroom to classroom to shoot victims. The gunman, identified as Salvador Ramos, was later shot dead by police. Details here “It’s time to act,” Biden emphasized. Biden urged the Americans to pray for the parents and siblings of the victims. The shooting took place just before noon at the rural Texas school where students were preparing to start summer break this week. At least one teacher was among the two adults killed.
