The UAE’s Cyber Security Council has urged residents using Google Chrome to update their browser to avoid cyberattacks. The security alert for desktop users of Google Chrome came after the tech giant released a new update to its browser to address “multiple high-severity vulnerabilities.” According to the Cyber Security Council, vulnerabilities in the Chrome browser “could allow an attacker to remotely execute malicious code on a victim's machine in the context of the logged-in user, leading to data theft, installation of malware, or impersonation of the user." These vulnerabilities affect Google Chrome v122.0.6261.57 or earlier on Windows, Mac and Linux. The Council recommended updating Google Chrome to the latest version, which Google says includes 12 security fixes, out of which two were marked as high-severity flaws.

How to update to latest Google Chrome version

On your computer, open Chrome At the top right, click More (or three vertical dots) Click Help Go to About Google Chrome Click Update Google Chrome. If you can't find this button, you're on the latest version. Click Relaunch
