A Chevrolet Silverado crashed into a McDonald’s restaurant at an Eppco petrol station in Ajman late on Sunday (July 17), killing two people. Police on Monday said they have arrested the 22-year-old Emirati driver for investigation. The Emirati had suffered an epileptic attack during the incident, police said. Ajman Police said that the victims were a 45-year-old Indian woman and a 9-year-old Arab child who were seated next to the glass window. Five other people, including three children, were also injured in the incident. Police said two Indian families were among the injured. Photos on social media showed the pick-up truck halfway inside the restaurant, with streaks of blood on the floor, broken glass and tables strewn about. Witnesses said it appeared that the driver had lost control of the vehicle. Ajman Police's Colonel Abdullah Al Hamrani confirmed this in a statement, saying "the incident happened after a driver of a four-wheel car lost control of his vehicle, causing the car to ram into a glass window at McDonald's where people were having dinner".
