The crackdown on reckless motorists in Last Exit, Al Khawaneej. Dubai Police

The Dubai Police has cracked down on 132 motorists for reckless driving in Al Khawaneej and Last Exit Al Khawaneej, according to the police force on Friday (January 12). The Dubai Police impounded 91 cars and 41 motorcycles used in reckless driving or stunt driving in the area. Police also issued 560 traffic fines. Watch the video here The seizures came after police received “numerous reports and complaints from residents of Al Khawaneej and visitors at Last Exit,” said Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police. Al Mazrouei said that motorists committed various violations, including driving against the flow of traffic. Under Dubai’s updated traffic law, vehicles that are impounded for reckless driving will only be released if a Dh50,000 fine is paid. ICA/Expat Media
