A Virginia woman has become $2 million richer after a mistake at a local convenience store led her to purchase a winning lottery ticket. The lucky winner, identified as Kelly Lindsay from Carrollton, had initially requested a different scratch-off ticket from the cashier. However, due to an accidental mix-up, she was handed a Money Blitz scratch-off ticket instead. Initially frustrated by the error, Kelly decided to scratch the ticket while still in the parking lot. To her astonishment, she had won the top prize of $2 million. “And I got over not being happy about it,” she joked when recalling the incident. Rather than opting for annuity payments, Kelly chose to take a lump sum payout. After taxes, she walked away with $1.25 million. According to lottery officials, the odds of winning the $2 million Money Blitz prize were an astonishing 1 in 1.1 million. Notably, the game features two top prizes, meaning one more jackpot remains unclaimed. In the UAE, the UAE Lottery was launched last year to become the country's first and only regulated lottery.
