Virtual Simbang Gabi for Filipinos in Dubai this year

DUBAI - Filipino Catholics in Dubai will not be able to attend the traditional Simbang Gabi masses at St. Mary’s Catholic Church this year as the church remains closed to the public due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The nine-day evening masses, which attracts thousands of people to the church every year, will be held virtually starting on December 15. The online mass will be held at 7:45pm. In the Philippines, Simbang Gabi is held at dawn, leading up to Christmas Eve. Devotees believe that completing the series of masses for nine days will result in answered prayers. This year’s Simbang Gabi in Dubai will be streamed live through the St. Mary’s Church Filipino Community Facebook page.
