Move aims to improve UAE-India relations, according to officials

  ABU DHABI – The UAE Cabinet approved on Wednesday the granting of visa on arrival to Indian nationals with EU and UK residence visas. Reports said the granting of visa on arrival to Indian passport holders with EU and EK residency visas is part of a simplified visa process that is aimed at improving UAE-India economic, political and trade relations. The move also is also meant to help the UAE achieve its vision as the leading country in attracting global tourism Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved Value-Added Tax and Excise Tax executive regulations in line with the economic agreement signed among Gulf states. The Cabinet also endorsed a community service integrated system that replaces minor penalties with the conduct of community work by the offenders. The Cabinet is chaired by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Before the start of the Cabinet meeting, Shaikh Mohammad issued a message of congratulations to more than a million students on the new academic year. "Your national duty is to succeed. We depend on your success every year to develop our country and its future," he said.
