FIBA.com comes up with 10 reasons why cage fans should follow the tournament

  MANILA – The 2017 Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) Championship kicked off last night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines with seven teams vying to get the sub-zone's one and only qualifying slot for the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon this August. He is not as speedy and spry as he used to be, according to FIBA.com, but he can still contribute points for Timnas Basket as one of the Indonesian team's deadly shooters. *Thailand would be aiming to pull the rug against under Gilas as it had done multiple times in the past two years so it would be interesting to see if the Thais can pull an upset this time around. *Delvin Goh of Singapore will make his debut at the SEABA after being exposed to "high levels of international play." He exhibited attention-getting prowess in the recent ASEAN Basketball League and is expected show the same in the SEABA games. *Malaysia is fielding a team made up of youths and their coach believes they will surely gain experience from the SEABA "for their future development." *Vietnam has an all-pro national team competing in the SEABA so it's a team to watch out for. *Myanmar is participating again in the SEABA after a long absence. The last time the country played in the SEABA was in the early 1990s. Their participation again in this year's SEABA edition "will be fraught with stumbles and hard lessons," said FIBA.
