Multiple vehicle crash on Emirates Road injures 26 people, results in traffic snarls

  DUBAI - A multi-vehicle pile-up on Emirates Road left at least 26 people injured on Monday, police said. Three of the victims were seriously injured in the pile-up involving two cars and two minibuses. Police said that the three were trapped inside the vehicles and were in critical condition before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. Initial police investigation revealed that a car had swerved on the Dubai Club bridge on Emirates Road to overtake a vehicle, colliding with a minibus. The minibus then collided into another minibus cruising in front of it, causing one of the vehicles to overturn. A fourth vehicle collided into the pile-up. The accident resulted in heavy traffic on Emirates Road.
