In celebration of the International Day for Older Persons, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has launched a heartwarming initiative to honor senior citizens with exclusive helicopter rides over Dubai’s iconic landmarks. This community-driven effort, called "Autumn with Dubai Civil Aviation Authority," gives elderly Emiratis the chance to experience the beauty of Dubai from the skies. The initiative, which began on October 1, was made possible through collaboration between the DCAA, the Community Development Authority (CDA), and helicopter operator Air Chateau. The rides started from Al Barsha Community Center, where senior citizens were given a surprise opportunity to embark on an aerial tour of Dubai’s stunning landscapes and architectural wonders. A video shared by the DCAA on social media captured the excitement of the participants. One senior citizen, brimming with joy, commented, “It’s beautiful, nothing can be more beautiful.” Another expressed her delight, saying, “I feel so good, I want to fly.” Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the DCAA, highlighted that this initiative aligns with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who emphasizes the importance of engaging senior citizens in social and family activities. The helicopter rides are part of the DCAA’s broader efforts to recognize and honor the contributions of senior citizens to the community. As Dubai continues to invest in inclusive initiatives, the "Autumn with DCAA" project is just one example of how the city is making a positive impact on the lives of its older residents.
