DUBAI - Pedestrians crossing Al Saadah Street in Dubai can now walk easy thanks to a smart traffic signal. They don't need to press a button. All they need to do is stand by and let the sensors do their work. The traffic signal on Al Saadah Street is considered Dubai's first smart pedestrian traffic signal. The traffic signal uses a sensor-based smart system through an optical ground system. A camera sensor spots the movement of pedestrians on the pavement and automatically modifies the timing of the traffic lights accordingly.
