Watch: Emirati girl rescued after falling into Fujairah well

DUBAI – A six-year-old Emirati girl has been rescued after falling into a well in Fujairah, according to the Ministry of Interior. The incident happened in the Wasit area of Dibba in Fujairah on Monday (February 21) at around 9:42am. The girl's father, Yaqoub bin Abdullah Al Shehhi, told media that the girl was playing in the yard with her brother and jumped on a piece of iron that covered the well. The piece of iron moved, which caused her to fall inside the 15-metre-deep well. A video posted by the Ministry of Interior showed a rescuer descending into the narrow well to retrieve the girl who was wadding in waist-deep water. Watch it here: She was rescued within 15 minutes of rescuers arriving at the site and transported to hospital. She is reportedly in good health. At the hospital, the girl was visited by Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and police officers who checked on her condition.
