Watch: Filipinos in UAE launch Bangkota song for Expo 2020

  DUBAI – A group of Filipino expatriates in the UAE, led by the Philippine Business Council-Dubai and Northern Emirate (PBC-DNE), launched a special pop song for Bangkota, the Philippine Pavilion at Expo 2020. “We want our kababayans (compatriots) to take ownership of the Bangkota pavilion,” Bobbie Carella, PBC-DNE President, told the gathering at the I am Bangkota Conference at Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai on Monday (September 20) as part of efforts to boost interest in the Philippine Pavilion. The conference was organised by PBC-DNE and United Architects of the Philippines. PBC-DNE teamed up with Filipino social media influencers to produce the catchy song. Watch it here: The song is titled “Tara Na!”, with the vocals of Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes and singer Sharina Manaog, who also penned the lyrics and music with the help of Carella, Christian Vasquez and David Edulzura. The music video stars social media influencers Ian Dela Peña, Chokie Echosera, Brian Bryle de Gracia and the Melrish Studio Crew. The song was launched on Monday in the presence of Rosvi Gaetos, assistant secretary of the Department of Trade (DTI) and Industry, and alternate commissioner-general of Philippines Expo 2020 Dubai; Charmaine Yalong, Philippine Commercial Attaché to the Middle East and Africa; Philippine Consul General Cortes and Royal Piñeda, architect of the Philippine Pavilion.
