A pickup truck that abruptly stopped in the middle of the road Abu Dhabi caused a multi-car crash on the busy highway. Abu Dhabi Police shared CCTV footage of the incident as part of an initiative to improve traffic safety in the emirate. In the video, a white pick-up truck is seen stopping abruptly in the middle of the road after what appeared to be a technical fault. Debris is seen falling from the truck. Instead of moving to the roadside, the truck stops in the middle of the highway, forcing a red car and an SUV behind it to stop abruptly. However, an oncoming third car crashes onto the SUV before swerving into a 4x4 on the next lane, causing a multi-car crash. The Abu Dhabi Police Directorate of Traffic and Patrol warned drivers against the dangers of parking in the middle of the road for any reason and urged them to go to the nearest exit to ensure the safety of road users. In case they are unable to move the vehicle, they must immediately contact the 999 Control Center for support. The Abu Dhabi Police also urged motorists to leave adequate, safe distance when driving, and also avoid any distractions, such as using a mobile phone, while driving. ICA/Expat Media
