Behind the scenes at Expo 2020 Dubai’s breathtaking Opening Ceremony

DUBAI – The creative team at Expo 2020 has given a sneak peek of 90-minute extravaganza of the Opening Ceremony of the "greatest show on Earth". More than 1,000 performers and crew are working on the spectacular curtain-raiser, with dazzling costumes and projections reflecting the diverse nature and landscapes of the UAE. Watch the sneak peek here: “It is not something that I can explain through words. It will trigger something inside you, something that will make you feel that you are ready to change the world,” said Amna Abulhoul, Executive Creative Director of Events and Entertainment at Expo 2020 Dubai. Using music, dance, drama and projection, the ceremony will give audiences around the world their first experience of Expo 2020’s beating heart, Al Wasl Plaza – demonstrating the cutting-edge technology that will bring Al Wasl dome, the world’s largest 360-degree projection screen, to life. The ground-breaking Opening Ceremony will be broadcast to a global audience of millions across multiple channels, including Expo TV. “We work so hard together for many months, for some of us many years, to bring the show to fruition,” said Kate Randall, Vice President of Ceremonies and Programming at Expo 2020 Dubai.
