Why do women make great leaders?

In some of women's lives, they are told they can't lead because people thought they were seen as 'too soft', 'too naive', 'too weak', and every adjective that would undermine women in society. All of these are backed by the long misogyny of people that have been conditioned with them for generations. Women aren't encouraged to take up leadership roles as much as males, but today, younger women are able to see a wide representation of women taking up space in the society, and being successful in their own fields, like Taylor Swift, who's known all over the world for her music, or perhaps, women leaders such as New Zealand's female Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, who surmounted in her term, a volcano eruption and the COVID-19 pandemic all while taking care of a baby, and even our own mothers regardless of whether they're working or not. The representation that women have in society inspires young girls to become the women they've always wanted to be. Gender should never be a factor to determine whether a person could lead or not because it's always a person's qualities that make them a leader. But what makes women great leaders in society? Understanding the unique traits that come with being a woman will make you understand why women make exceptional leaders in society. Empathy  Contrary to the belief that empathy is a weakness, empathy is actually a strength that a lot of women leaders possess. Hundreds of studies suggest that women possess a greater empathic disposition as compared to men. For a person to consider the feelings of others, women leaders are able to know what drives their team to move forward and what motivates them. Empathy contributes to understanding their constituents in order to deliver peak performance. Nurturing Women are known to be nurturers biologically, but this does not go to say that their being nurturers can only be applied in familial settings such as being a wife, or perhaps motherhood. Because of women's nurturing skills, they are able to uplift their workmates to be better at what they do and give them a little nudge of encouragement for improvement. In a way, the nurturing skill of a woman aids in the growth of an individual. Communication skills Women make excellent communicators. Many studies over the years suggest that women are naturally predisposed to be better communicators than men. We all know how communication plays a vital role in the workspace as it is used in negotiating, coaching, and team building. Communicators at work tend to play an upper hand in the workplace because of their ability to grasp information and communicate them to their team. Good communication skills help aid in the smooth transaction of people and it helps in maintaining a harmonious workspace. After all, communication is key. Listening skills Because women are empathetic, they are adept at determining the needs of their constituents, thus maintaining a healthy environment for them. Women do a great job in listening to the concerns and issues of the people around them that they are able to make sound decisions that make their constituents feel seen and heard. Multi-tasking and time management The ability to multitask is a bonus for leaders especially when they're handling multiple people at a time. Women are good at handling a variety of tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. A balance in work life and personal life must be maintained, and what better example of that are working mothers. Leadership is only one of the multiple ways that women take up space in society, yet the qualities of women mentioned above will lead women to places. A woman's worth should not be determined by what society thinks a woman's role should be. A woman determines her own worth by taking charge of her own life regardless of what society thinks.
