Abu Dhabi launches parking spaces for women only

  ABU DHABI – The next time you see a parking bay with pink and white markings in Abu Dhabi, remember that it is only for female drivers. The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport (DMAT) on Monday (August 29) said that 182 parking bays in Abu Dhabi have been designated for women. Male drivers who park their vehicles in these special parking bays “will be fined and their vehicle towed away,” DMAT said in a statement. The special parking slots for female drivers are found in multi-storey parking structures to help maintain women’s privacy, according to DMAT.
