  DUBAI – Work on the Marasi Bay marina has started with the installation of the pontoons that will serve as base. The marina is part of Dubai Properties' Dh1-billion mixed-used Marasi Business Bay project, which was launched in May last year. Dubai Properties group chief executive officer (CEO) Abdulla Lahej witnessed the installation of the flotation devices for the berths. The first phase of the marina will have 157 berths varying in size from eight meters to 35 meters and will be completed in the third quarter of the year, according to a statement from Dubai Properties Group and Dubai Holding. As envisioned by Dubai Properties, Marasi Business Bay will become Dubai's most sought-after waterfront destination. It will feature water homes with pools and floating restaurants and is located along the Dubai Water Canal. Marasi Business Bay will have a park, pier and marina, which would make it the Middle East's first purposely-built yachting hub.
