The Henley Passport Index 2026 has once again revealed which countries hold the world’s most powerful passports, and which nationalities enjoy greater travel freedom. Based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the index ranks passports according to how many destinations their holders can enter without a visa or with a visa on arrival. Singapore has emerged as the world’s strongest passport in 2026, with its citizens enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to an impressive 192 destinations. This reflects the country’s strong diplomatic ties and stable international relations. Japan and South Korea follow closely behind in second place, each offering access to 188 destinations. European countries continue to dominate the upper rankings, with several EU states sharing positions due to identical access levels. The UAE also remains among the global elite, ranking fifth worldwide. This highlights the country’s continued rise in global mobility and its strong diplomatic engagement across regions.
