Tucked in the bustling heart of Al Barsha, Yalu Jiang Barbecue Restaurant is proof that great food transcends boundaries. On a busy Sunday evening, the Expat Media team walked into the lively restaurant, greeted by a mix of diners—Europeans, Arabs, Indians, Koreans and Filipinos—all united by a shared love for culinary adventure. Opened in 2021, Yalu Jiang has earned a loyal following for its unbeatable buffet deals and consistent quality. For just Dh59, diners can enjoy an unlimited hotpot and buffet. Add Dh19, and you get unlimited Korean barbecue too—a steal for the value and variety offered. The restaurant’s ambiance immediately sets the tone for a fun dining experience. Spacious interiors are divided into cozy sections, with options for small groups, families, and even private karaoke rooms. We settled into their karaoke room, which could seat up to 10 people. As the friendly staff fired up the grill and the hotpots, our music-loving colleague fired up the karaoke. We couldn’t resist belting out our favorite tunes between bites of delicious barbecue! The food is the real star here. The buffet boasts an impressive selection: meats, seafood, dumplings, fresh vegetables, tofu, mushrooms, and even sushi. Each table features high-tech hotpots and grills, allowing diners to customize their meals. Whether you prefer a seafood-laden broth or a spicy mix, the choice is yours. The attention to detail elevates the experience. From the smoke-extracting fans above each grill to the friendly servers ready to refill your soup or offer grilling tips, Yalu Jiang makes dining effortless and enjoyable. Our team was even introduced to Filipino "isaw" for the grill—a nostalgic touch for Pinoy diners. Manager Jules Saguan summed it up best: “You'll definitely feel at home here.” This was echoed by one of the diners at the karaoke room next to ours, a group of food and fun loving volleyball players of mixed nationalities whom Saguan said are their regulars.
