Youngest Emirati repatriate arrives in UAE after being stranded in Kuwait

ABU DHABI – An Emirati baby girl stranded in Kuwait has been repatriated to the UAE with the help of embassy officials and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Baby Zeina Al Amiri was born in Kuwait in April as travel restrictions were imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Her father, Dr. Abdullah Al Amiri, said the UAE Embassy in Kuwait issued an emergency passport for Zeina to return to the UAE. Dr. Al Amiri has been working in the frontline of the UAE’s fight against coronavirus. "After ten months apart, and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the UAE Embassy in Kuwait, an emergency passport for my child Zeina was issued, and my family returned safely to the homeland," Dr. Al Amiri said. The repatriation of other UAE citizens and their companions stranded abroad is currently underway.
