The mother of Filipino content creator Zeinab Harake has gone public with claims that she was barred from attending her daughter’s wedding to professional basketball player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. Zeinab and Parks tied the knot on June 1 in a lavish garden ceremony in Tagaytay attended by a star-studded guest list that included Toni Gonzaga, Paul Soriano, Alex Gonzaga, Yassi Pressman, Loisa Andalio, and Andrea Brillantes. The wedding went viral online after Zeinab shared photos and clips on social media, with her stunning lace gown designed by Dubai-based couturier Michael Cinco. Noticeably absent from the celebration was Zeinab’s mother, Mariafe Ocampo. Her absence sparked questions among fans, and a viral Facebook comment has since ignited controversy. In the now widely shared comment, Mariafe claimed: “Ano po ang gagawin ko, di po ako pinapasok sa gate. Naka-ban po ako. Mahigpit na bilin ni Zeinab sa mga coordinator po then sa head guard (What can I do, I wasn't allowed to enter the gate. I was banned. This was Zeinab's strict orders to the coordinator and the head guard),” she wrote. “Kaya uwi na lang po ako. Ano gagawin ko, pilitin 'yung guard, nakipag-usap na nga po, di po talaga papasukin mother ni Zeinab. Yun po utos ni Zeinab sa kanila. Okay na po ba? (So, I went home. What can I do, force the guard who told me Zeinab's mother is not allowed inside. This was Zeinab's orders to them. Is it okay?)” Another anonymous social media post reportedly encountered Mariafe at a store in Cavite during the wedding day. The post quoted her saying in Filipino, “Even I, her own mother, was not allowed into Zeinab’s wedding.” While these statements have not been independently verified, they have triggered mixed reactions online. Some netizens defended Zeinab’s decision, saying she had the right to set boundaries for her big day. Others questioned the alleged estrangement between the mother and daughter. Zeinab has not addressed the issue directly but posted a cryptic message on June 5 that read: “Your wedding, your rules.” The Cavite-born Filipino-Lebanese influencer has built a massive online following with over 14.8 million YouTube subscribers and 1.1 billion total views.
