Abu Dhabi Police arrest driver for tailgating, overtaking

A “reckless” driver has been arrested by the Police in Abu Dhabi for committing two traffic violations and jeopardizing the safety of other drivers. In cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Center, the Abu Dhabi Police apprehended the motorist following the traffic violations, namely, tailgating and dangerously overtaking cars from road shoulders. This has urged the Traffic and Patrols Directorate to call on motorists not to overtake cars from the road shoulder, for they were designed for emergency cases and vehicles to get easy access on the road. Meanwhile, the directorate also advised drivers to avoid tailgating to give enough space for sudden vehicle stops without warning. This is to respect traffic rules and avoid wrong behaviors on roads.
