Martinus Miguel Castro Obispo, has garnered significant attention after winning 10 awards at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held in Long Beach, California. A seventh-grader enrolled in one of the Dubai schools, Obispo hauled titles such as Junior Multi-Medalist to Division Champion for Gospel with Self Accompaniment. A victory party was held upon his return to Dubai. a 12-year-old Filipino son of an expat couple from Laguna, Philippines, Obispo's mother is beaming with pride and exclaiming excitement while his vocal coach, Elipas Sibua, also hailed his excellent performance and strong presence on stage. Obispo, also a drummer and keyboard player, said he wants to pursue a career in the music world by performing globally and networking with music producers. Obispo’s awards included: Junior Multi-Medalist; WCOPA Grand Finalist - Junior Category; Division Champion for Gospel with Self Accompaniment; Gold Medal - Grand Finalist; Silver Medal - Semi-finalist; and Gold Medal - Vocal R&B Soul Jazz. Other awards included: Gold Medal - Gospel with Self Accompaniment; Gold Medal - Vocal Contemporary; Gold Medal - Vocal Gospel; Silver Medal - Instrumental Open; Silver Medal - KEM Trio Contemporary; and Bronze Medal - Vocal Open. The WCOPA, dubbed as the "Olympics of Talents", has already gathered performers from more than 70 countries worldwide and it includes Hollywood stars who launched their careers at the event.
