As it approaches its fifth anniversary, Dubai’s Museum of the Future is inviting the public to help design its next chapter through a global open call for ideas that could shape future exhibitions and immersive experiences. The initiative opens participation to people in the UAE and around the world, reinforcing the museum’s role as a platform where scientists, innovators, researchers, technologists and changemakers come together to explore solutions to global challenges and imagine the future. Officials said the move forms part of the museum’s ongoing evolution strategy, ensuring its exhibits continue to reflect emerging scientific, technological and societal developments expected to influence humanity in the coming decades.

Public invited to imagine the future

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Chairman of the Museum of the Future, said the initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to making future thinking a collaborative effort. “The Museum of the Future represents a unique UAE model that transforms foresight into an institutional practice where knowledge, innovation, technology, and human imagination come together to shape what comes next,” Al Gergawi said. “Unlike traditional museums that document the past, the Museum of the Future explores what tomorrow could become and the opportunities science, technology, and innovation create for building a better future. The museum is committed to presenting content that is ever evolving and focused on the future, which is not something we wait for, but something we create through knowledge, imagination, and action,” he added. According to Al Gergawi, the museum’s next phase will feature deeper, more interactive and highly immersive experiences that explore scientific breakthroughs, emerging technologies and major societal shifts expected to reshape economies and daily life. Al Gergawi said the UAE wants to broaden participation in designing future experiences, noting that transformative ideas can emerge from anyone, regardless of geography or background. “Today, we want to expand participation in designing the future because the ideas capable of changing people's lives may come from anyone, anywhere in the world,” he said. “Engaging the community in designing future experiences reflects the UAE’s belief in partnership, openness, and empowerment. We believe the best futures are built when ideas from different cultures, disciplines, and experiences come together to create solutions that benefit humanity.” Members of the public can submit ideas through the Museum of the Future’s official social media channels. Selected concepts may be considered as part of future exhibitions, experiences and innovation initiatives. Since opening in February 2022, the Museum of the Future has become one of Dubai’s most recognisable landmarks and a global destination for innovation, attracting researchers, entrepreneurs, technology pioneers and future thinkers from around the world.
