Dubai ranks 2nd out of 100 best cities worldwide

UK-based market research firm Euromonitor released a report stating that the Emirate of Dubai was ranked second among the top 10 cities out of the best 100 cities in the world for 2022. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's deputy ruler, deputy prime minister, and finance minister, commented on the report, saying, “A new international report on the best and most attractive global tourist city destinations in 2022 places Dubai in second place in this indicator. Dubai also ranked the world’s top for the number of tourists with 12 million tourist trips in 2022. Dubai is always in the forefront.” According to the report, the emirate came first for international arrivals because more than 12 million foreign tourists visited it this year, nearly twice as many as in 2016. The report evaluates 100 cities worldwide based on six ratings or pillars, including tourism policies and performance, sustainability and infrastructure, health and safety, and economic performance. Paris topped the list of the top 10 cities in the "Top 100 Cities Index 2022" for the second year in a row, followed by Dubai and then several European cities, including Amsterdam, Madrid, Rome, London, Munich, Berlin, and Barcelona.
