Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed a new parking service in the emirate. The free parking service includes all paid public parking lots within a 500-meter radius of the residence. Emirate residents can apply online for a special permit that gives them access to free parking beside their residences. Citizens can submit their applications on the RTA website. Authorities require a copy of an Emirates ID, a current Ejari, and documentation of car ownership. Each household receives a certain number of free permits, which is determined by the size. A house with one room and a hall or a studio receives two permits, a house with two rooms and a hallway receives three permits, and a house with three rooms and a hallway receives four free permits. The application processing only takes two working days, following the policies and processes on the website. The permission will be emailed to the applicant once the application has been accepted. All residents can get seasonal parking permits. These fall into two categories: A: This permit is valid in Dubai's paid parking zones A, B, C, and D. B: Only the paid parking zones B and D are eligible for use in this category. All places accept paid parking permits except for Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Deira Fish Market, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Gold Souq.
