Filipina, Nepalese among 7 to share Dh1 million Mahzooz prize

DUBAI – A Filipina and Nepalese man in the UAE were among seven winners to share the Dh1 million prize in the recent Mahzooz draw. Noemi, 44, said she will use her winnings to buy a house for her family. The Filipina is based in Dubai. “I have always wanted to buy a house for my family back in the Philippines and now I will do that,” Noemi said. Deependra, 38, a winner from Nepal, also hopes to build a house for his family. “I’ve been planning to buy a property for my family that’s closer to Kathmandu. I discussed this with my father, my mother, and my wife and now it’s a reality,” Deependra said. Noemi and Deependra will take home Dh142,857 after they matched five out of the six numbers drawn during the 15th weekly raffle on Saturday. Another Dubai resident and winner, Satwinderpal, said he will use the money to take care of his family. “These are tough times but I am blessed that I now have the money to build my family a house in Punjab,” said the 27-year-old Satwinderpal. The Dh50 million jackpot is still up for grabs. The entry price for each draw is Dh35. Entrants can register on mahzooz.ae. ICA/Expat Media
