Filipino in Dubai becomes second millionaire in Mahzooz

  DUBAI – A Filipino expatriate in Dubai became the second Filipino to become a millionaire in Mahzooz this year, and the 11th person to win a million in the draw this year. Antonio won the second prize of Dh1 million after matching five out of six winning numbers in the June 19th live draw. The 33-year-old gym salesman said he will use his winnings to have an unforgettable wedding and to help those in need. Antonio said while he never missed a draw, he failed to watch the live draw on the Saturday that he won. “I didn't realise I won until I received a call from the Mahzooz team congratulating me. I was shocked and couldn't believe it,” Antonio said. The newly-made millionaire has been in Dubai for three years and is currently engaged to the love of his life. "This money is such a blessing for us and our whole family," said Antonio. "My fiancé and I can finally have our dream wedding and set ourselves up for the future." He also plans on sharing his winnings with others. "I have a nephew who was dreaming of studying abroad and I plan on helping him pay for that," he said. "Also, my friend works in a church in Oud Metha and I know a lot of people in that community have really been hit hard during the Covid-19 pandemic. I will donate some of my winnings to the church to help those in need," he added. The Filipino encouraged people to “always look at the bright side”. "Life won't always be easy, but Mahzooz is there to help. Always look at the bright side; no matter what you go through, there will be blessings along the way," he said. To date, Mahzooz has seen more than 17,000 Filipino winners take home more than Dh6.5 million in cash prizes.
