Authorities have announced that travelers arriving in Abu Dhabi will soon be able to take a flying taxi to their homes and hotels. The futuristic project is made possible by a memorandum of understanding signed by Abu Dhabi Airports and the French engineering and operations firm Groupe ADP. The two parties agreed to explore the potential of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), a new concept of air transportation that uses electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to transport people and cargo. Abu Dhabi Airports and Groupe ADP have agreed to collaborate from the planning and development stage to the operation of AAM's ground infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. A feasibility study and market assessment will be carried out to develop the industry roadmap. Al Dhaheri and Philippe Martinet, managing director of Groupe ADP Airport Services, recently signed a strategic partnership at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022.
