UAE workers fear losing jobs to robots, AI
A survey says that more than half of UAE workers fear losing their employment to robots or artificial intelligence in the next ten years. A poll of nearly 1,000 respondents found that younger people are more concerned about how technological advances may affect their job prospects. The poll, conducted by communications advisors duke+mir in collaboration with YouGov, questioned participants how they thought AI might affect their lives. According to the survey, 66% of individuals under 25 are scared that AI and robots will take their employment in the next decade, compared to 57% of those aged 25 to 44 and 43% of those aged 45 and over. According to the surveyors, the commercial sector and public institutions have an opportunity to provide more excellent education on the potential benefits of AI and robotics. The UAE government is driving ambitious plans to establish the country as a global AI hub. As cities become more intelligent by utilizing technology, they become more efficient and generate huge amounts of data to enable governments to improve services. Although AI plays a key role in how data from smart cities is used, human interaction will always play a critical role, according to Arif Aljanahi, security engineering department director of the Security Industry Regulatory Industry, an agency set up by the Dubai government.
