Indian man wins Dh20 million on second try

Indian national Arun Kumar Vatakke Koroth couldn't believe his luck when he won the Dh20 million jackpot in Big Ticket on his second try. Koroth, who is based in Bengaluru, India, won the jackpot on Monday (April 3) with his ticket number 261031, bought on March 22. When the show host, Richard, called Koroth, the latter went silent and hung up the call. According to the show, the newest winner might appear to be “in disbelief after hearing the news."

The Indian national started buying Big Ticket raffle tickets online after hearing about the Big Ticket live draws from his friends.

Koroth bought his second ticket from the Big Ticket website on March 22 after feeling lucky and wanting to try his luck once again.

When Big Ticket’s representatives first tried to inform him about his big win, he couldn’t believe that on just his second try, he was named the sole winner of the Dh20 million grand prize.

Overjoyed, Koroth says he will finally be able to have his dream become a reality by investing a large sum of his winnings into starting his own business in his home country.

Meanwhile, Bahrain-based Indian national Suresh Mathan won the second prize of Dh100,000 with his winning number of 018462, which was bought on March 27. The third prize of Dh90,000 was won by an Oman-based Indian national, Muhammed Shefeek, with a winning ticket number of 333142. He purchased his ticket on March 28. The next Big Ticket draw will be on May 3, with a jackpot prize of Dh15 million.
