From colorful handprints on the UAE flag to selfies with police mascots, Umm Suqeim Beach came alive with kids’ laughter and family fun during the Umm Suqeim Community Forum hosted by the Dubai Police Positive Spirit Council. The two-day event was more than just a beach hangout—it was a fun-tastic mix of learning and play for over 1,000 people of all ages and nationalities. Held right in front of the Smart Police Station (SPS), it featured everything from live band performances to important lessons on staying safe. The highlight for many kids? Leaving their painted handprints on the giant UAE flag in celebration of Union Pledge Day. Others joined drawing corners, played beachside games, or posed for photos with Officer Mansour, the friendly police mascot. “We got to meet police officers and even sit in their luxury patrol cars!” said 10-year-old Aya, beaming as she showed off her mini-police badge sticker. “I want to be a police officer one day.” Children also learned how to contact Dubai Police during emergencies by dialing 999, and for non-urgent help at 901. They attended talks on traffic safety, the "Support Victim" service, and got to explore how the Smart Police Station works—no humans needed! “This forum isn’t just about fun,” said Ms. Fatima Buhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council. “It’s about teaching our children the values of safety, kindness, respect, and how we all belong to a happy, united community.” And with the Dubai Police Band playing cheerful tunes, beach games galore, and plenty of memories made under the sun, the event truly brought the "positive spirit" to life.
