Convicted individuals with a travel ban and arrest order in Dubai will be able to cancel them through the Smart Fine Payment system launched by the Dubai Public Prosecution. The new system allows individuals convicted in criminal cases and sentenced to pay a fine, to settle their fine online and have their travel ban automatically lifted after the court issues a verdict. Shamsa Salem Al Marri, Director of Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence, said the Smart Fine Payment system works in three ways: 1. Individuals can click on the link in the SMS from Dubai Public Prosecution. This will take them to the Smart Fine Payment System to settle their fine. 2. Individuals can log into the Dubai Public Prosecution’s website or app with their digital ID and make an online payment. 3. Fines can be paid via ATM accepting electronic or cash transactions. Once the fine is paid, an SMS from Dubai Public Prosecution will be sent to the individual, which confirms the immediate cancellation of the travel ban and any arrest order. Once the court verdict is final, the travel ban will be officially lifted, and police will be notified of the removal of the travel ban and arrest order. ICA/Expat Media
