Philippine Airlines flight attendant found dead in hotel room, 11 charged with rape with homicide

  MANILA – Eleven people have been charged with rape with homicide after 23-year-old Philippine Airlines flight attendant Christine Dacera was found dead in a hotel room in Makati City on New Year’s day. An investigation is now underway to find out the circumstances surrounding Dacera's death. Police are looking at the possibility of foul play and gang rape. A police official said that CCTV footage from the hotel where she stayed showed Christina and a group of people moving "back and forth" between the two rooms that they rented until about 6am when the victim was seen being led back to the room where she was later found dead. According to a police report, Dacera was found lying unresponsive in the bathtub by a male friend who then brought her to the hotel clinic where the security manager tried but failed to revive her with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. She was later transferred to the Makati Medical Clinic where she was declared dead on arrival. A team of forensics found bruises and abrasions in her inner thigh, contusions on her knees, and traces of semen in her body. January 5 update: More details emerge on Christine Dacera death According to investigators, Dacera had checked in at City Garden Hotel with her colleagues Rommel Galida, Gregorio Angelo Rafael de Guzman, and John Dela Serna at about 12:30am on January 1. She also made a video call with her mother a few minutes later. Police said that Dacera was also with 10 people during a private party. Five of the men had checked in at the adjacent room. On Monday (January 4), police charged 11 people, including the three men with Dacera, with rape with homicide, and have launched a manhunt for eight of the suspects. Meanwhile, Dacera’s family has flown in from General Santos City to ensure that their daughter gets justice. Dacera’s mother, Sharon, told media that her daughter even asked her for permission to attend the party. “Kung sino man ang gumawa nito sa anak ko, sana mabulok kayo sa kulungan (Whoever did this to my daughter, I hope you will rot in jail),” Sharon said, “She doesn’t deserve what you did to her.
