Second miracle for youngest Filipino Covid-19 survivor in UAE

DUBAI – A one-year-old boy is now coronavirus-free in the UAE, becoming the youngest Filipino to survive Covid-19 in the country, according to the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Philippine Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana said she was happy that baby Zaine was granted “another miracle”. The baby had survived premature birth in 2018. Zaine tested positive for Covid-19 seven times in Abu Dhabi. His mother also contracted Covid-19 but exhibited very mild symptoms. The mother and son are now in good health. In April, another Filipino boy in Abu Dhabi recovered from Covid-19 and was given a round of applause by staff at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City as he was discharged from the hospital. Hervie Emmanuel Magos, 9, had spent a month in the hospital where his mother and father were also admitted due to serious coronavirus symptoms. At one point, the boy was in critical condition in the intensive care unit where he spent his 9th birthday on April 1. His condition improved 10 days later. His parents have since recovered from Covid-19 after developing severe effects of the virus.
