Police have raided a villa in Dubai that was used as a secret gambling den and jailed a four-member gambling gang as well as 18 gamblers. The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced the four-member gambling gang to one year in prison. The 18 gamblers were sentenced to three months in jail, and will be deported after serving their sentence. They were also fined Dh100,000 each. Police said the arrests were made during a raid last July. Police said they were tipped off about the residential villa being used as a gambling den. Police seized a cash box and a TV screen at the villa, and confiscated a total of Dh21,000 in cash that was found on a gambling table. The villa has been ordered closed until the Public Prosecution orders that it be reopened for residential purposes. ICA/Expat Media
